Sprouts offers food that's organic and local or fair trade. Here's the story behind just a few of our products.
Café Justicia Coffee
We brew and sell Café Justicia, fair-trade, certified organic, shade-grown and bird friendly coffee from the highlands of Guatemala. This coffee is produced and processed by members of the CCDA (the Campesino Committee of the Highlands), in Guatemala and is sent by boat to BC CASA (BC-Central American Students Association) in Vancouver. The beans are locally roasted in small batches and then brought out to UBC by bus. We decided to make the switch to Café Justicia because they have a commodity chain that is easy to trace, and also because the coffee is delicious.
Bulk Products
We carry a selection of dry bulk goods in store at minimal markup. Don't know what to do with quinoa or lentils? Find out more in our guides.

UBC Farm Produce
We carry produce grown down the road at the UBC Farm: lots of vegetables and fruits from the fall harvest, and a smaller selection of fresh produce during the winter months. The farm follows guidelines for organic production set out by the Certified Organic Associations of BC, and it doesn't get much more local than this! During the summer months, check out their farm market.
