Community. Sustainability. Accessibility.

Sprouts is a 100% volunteer and student-run organization at the University of British Columbia (UBC). Through our many initiatives, we endeavor to make healthy, affordable, and sustainably produced food accessible to everyone on campus.

We would like to acknowledge that Sprouts and Seedlings café's are located on the unceded, ancestral, and occupied homelands of the hən̓q̓əmin̓əm̓ speaking xʷməθkʷəy̓əm people, the People of the River Grass. We also acknowledge the Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish), Stó:lō and Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil- Waututh) Nations, as the majority of the food we source is grown on their lands. As a food justice organization, we believe that access to sustainable and local food is a human right. As upheld by the 1990 R v. Sparrow case, the Musqueam Nation has full rights to accessing food on their lands and we are committed to supporting Musqueam food sovereignty in any way we can.
